For its third year, the Centro Cultural Roberto Cantoral (CCRC) will welcome the New York Jazz All Stars, with the best piano, bass and trumpet musicians, from March to November 2015. This festival is presented by De Quinta Producciones, in association with the Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Diversity and originality mark the festival, which features the best artists and masters of contemporary jazz. These musicians have been in the most important venues in New York and the world, featured by the sax player Wynton Marsalis.
The purpose of this project is to strengthen the jazz scene in Mexico and put this country into the world stage, as well as to promote an educational offer that helps young audience formation, through the promotion of free lectures for everyone.
The artists that will be part of this series of concerts and lectures are The Rodríguez Brothers Quintet, Helen Sung Quartet, Cyrus Chestnut Trio, Joe Sanders Infinity, Taylor Eigsti Trio, Dan Nimmer Trio, Diego Urcola Quintet and Kendrick Scott Oracle.
In november, the programe will include the drums player Antonio Sanchez, who composed and played the score for Birdman, the Oscar winner film by Alejandro González Iñárritu.
